Health Insurance for MM2H Renewal Visa
 

Hello everyone ,

I am Ian from Australia. Currently I am 70 years old.

I am concerned about the medical insurance situation to renew my MM2H visa soon as I do not have any health insurance.

Just wondered if any members have experience or any advice if the MM2H visa ould be renew without the health insurance. Also, if there is any tips on the letter of intention to cover this issue?

i believe after a certain age there is no requirement to hold medical insurance just need a letter saying you cant be insured due to age and that you will pay all bills yourself?

Hello Ian, most insurance companies here in Malaysia don't accept customers above a certain age. It depends a bit per company what that maximum age is, but it is below 70 (often somewhere between 60 and 65). The MM2H department knows this and the rules are written such that people who can't get an insurance are exempt from the requirement. It will certainly help if you apply at an insurance company and they send you a rejection letter. Showing that letter to MM2H makes your case even stronger.
