Non-residency Tax days in the UK
Hi,
Not sure if this is entirely in the right forum; I've searched around and can't find the one that nails it so thought I'd try this one.... I've been working in Afghanistan since Nov 13 - I was UK resident up until then and understand I can receive 'split-year treatment' in terms of residency and tax liability for the remainder of tax year 2013-14, as long as I complete year 2014-15 as non-resident. In this tax year I've spent about 40 days back in the UK, well under the 90 day limit and only intend on spending another 25 days in the UK but here is the problem: the boarding passes for my flight tickets have been mis-laid; if HMRC want proof of how many days I will have spent in the UK in this tax year, how do I go about proving this?! Has anyone else been asked by HMRC to submit plane tickets? Many thanks in advance... |
