Living abroad for a month or two to test a few places
Hi, I've long been thinking about moving abroad. I'm currently in part time education in England, which should hopefully (if I pass) be finished in a few months time.
I'm thinking as a holiday, as well as a break after a long course and also to test a few countries out to live in one or two places for a month at a time. Is this feasible, in terms of just a short term rent a flat or something for one month? I've got a bit of money saved up, which would cover it so I would like to do this. Could anyone recommend the best way of doing this, renting a place and maybe destinations to go to? Thanks.

I've met people traveling this way, it seemed very sensible to me.
I think you should start with a proposed itinerary, the world is a big place & it really depends on what you'd like to see & experience.

If you're looking for somewhere you might live, it's probably best to narrow it down to places where you would be eligible to do so. You also have the old problem that a holiday is nothing like living somewhere.

Sounds like a good sensible plan. You could maybe even
stay cheaply in youth hostels.
Good luck

This is a good point. Having moved countries a few times myself due to work, I have found that sometimes it can take me at least a couple of years to settle and get used to everything. Maybe others will adapt quicker but I find it can takes ages to get everything sorted such as driving licences, tax, etc. Moving every few months would drive me nuts. However, I thing the OP is thinking more a holiday which would work fine and I wish him happy hunting.

You realise the post you just answered is a year old?
