UK state pension
 
Does anyone know the current procedure for applying for the state UK pension? Yes my wife is eligible

Also, under the good friday agreement I have discovered that it is possible to claim both the irish and the UK state pension. This is subject to:

1 Checking with the UK (your NI number) that you have the full qualifying payments made to National Insurance when working in the UK previously
2 You have the qualifying payments to PRSI in Ireland whilst you have been working in Ireland, check with Intreo.

I was fortunate to be 30 yrs UK and 10 in ireland and qualify for both. The process for claiming is to contact Intreo at least 3 months before you are 66 and claim the irish and then inform them you are also asking them to claim your UK benefits through them. Hope that helps!

I have full Irish and Uk state pensions.
