Default The Republic or Northern Ireland

Without adding a discussion on medical care or issues related, or location location, no climate discussions either, or seniors benefits or concessions

For a move to the island for British seniors over state pension age

What I understand from basic research, posted on another thread, is

- Property for property 1000 sq'ft (92.90 sq'm) detached something, typical rural near coastal, non major centre - that what you get in the Republic is 50% cheaper than in NI?

- Council/property tax on same like property in NI is 5x what it is in the Republic?

- Utilities about the same on both sides of the border?

- Supermarket shopping - pricing & variety, grocery pricing about the same? If you live near the borders one can steal a deal doing cross border shopping for chosen items?

- Road tax: more expensive in the Republic than in NI

- Petrol prices: about the same in each country?

- Could there be an advantage living in a border town in either country?

Response, comments, other?

Do you want to live in the EU, or not?

I concur with not2old that Numbeo is a good source to do comparisons.
