Default Living costs question

Hi everyone

On an income of €80k/year, take home salary is €4,100 per month. A mortgage of €320/350k is around €1,500 per month. That leaves a disposable income of €2,600.

My question is, if I wanted to save €1,300, would the remaining €1,300 be enough to pay bills for two adults and some dogs every month, including private health insurance?

Thanks!

It really depends on your lifestyle and where you are living but I should imagine it shouldn't be too difficult.

This is a helpful site to do cost of living comparisons.

What are your circumstances, single person, kids? I ask csuse this can mske a big difference. I would ssy that it is do able but you would need to be very disciplined. The cost of living here is high. Average food bill a wk for small family at tesco 200euro, heating oil in winter months for a 4 bed detached house 250. 100per mth in electric. It all adds up, if you have to save that amount per month i would consider a lower mortage if possible.
Hope this helps!

Vets do seem to be cheaper over here, but food for them(we use burns) about 15 euro more expensive for a 15kg bag. We pay around 2000 a yr for health insurance 2adults and a toddler and this does not cover gp care or prescriptions.

Just read this and of course it's achievable. I don't know what people spend, but some people are even happy to have €1.300 a month and can manage. Of course it all adds up if your house is badly insulated and you overheat rooms, especially using Oil. Our water and heating runs on electricity (heat pump) and the highest bill (winter) we ever had was €280 for 2 months. The mortgage seems pretty high to me and I'm sure you can find something decent and reduce the amount by another €500 a month.
