Guys please can anyone help with info or guidance on where to get info?

We have just found a perfect home swap for us, (housing association) pretty rural so perfect for horses and not to far from possible work for hubby but and its HUGE but, a second person has said they dont think its possible to swap from uk to the republic!!

DOES ANYBODY KNOW what rules are?? The woman that has said this lives in a council house and says her council dont allow it. SO does this mean that even tho I have cleared up this matter with my HA that MY local council wont allow it???
SO CONFUSED! I had started talks with my poss house swap and for personal reasons they need this swap so REALLY DONT want to build their hopes up either,but dont want to drag my feet incase we loose the chance of this place. I have emailed them to keep them up to speed,but if ANY of you can clear this up for me that would be a load off

Manders, surely the best approach for 100% correct information is to contact the relevant housing association. I know they used to do council house swaps in the UK long ago, but no idea in Ireland I'm afraid

yes Mitzyboy thats what I did today,I only asked the question last night hoping someone could put us out of our misery having to wait till the council open at 9am.
AND the news couldnt be worse,its been confirmed that this particular council do NOT allow swaps to ROI :((((((
