I had thought to go to solicitor in Ireland because I do not believe the birth cert. can be found and there must be other cases like this so perhaps an Irish solicitor will know if the matter has been taken to court previously on grounds the birth cert. required was destroyed by civil unrest - and what the out come was or if it would be a legal non -starter. But I may try a genealogist if I can find one not trying to sell in advance a well bound folio of my family tree (very unlikely on Irish side)!
