Health insurance.
 
Starting from scratch on this one. Planning to move to Republic early next year. wife, mid 50's myself and Ederley mother 80 So health insurance... all pre existing conditions. I believe there are waiting times before claims eligibility but other than that all advice appreciated.

In fact, I was looking for the same information.. and a bit confused that whether all EU citizens qualify for the medical card which qualifies for free GP visits, medicines and treatment.

Believe it is 5 year wait on pre existing conditions on the insurance.emergency cover is straight away. other than that you are into the state system on a reciprocal arrangement with nhs in my case. Although of course the problem there is the waiting time as the public sector has been run down since the crash and there aren't enough nurses and resources etc. I'm guessing at 1.5 k a pop for us in our 50's. probably have to put in 10kish each over the period b4 any claims eligibility and an arm and a leg for the elder member.:unsure:
