Default Advice on taking our cars with us to Ireland

Hi could anyone help clarify when we would have to register our vehicles in ireland. We are looking to travel to Ireland in late September, and we are looking to have a holiday let for 6 months whilst we look for a property to buy or rent long term.

Hi
We moved to Ireland with our cars and had to register them within 30 days as we are resident here. If you are not resident I understand it is 6 months. But there are some good websites to clarify. Good luck.

It’s 12 months residence in the country the car(s) is currently register in and 6 months residence which you will need rental agreeements/mortgage repayments plus bank statements to prove you were actually living there. Revenue are very strict on Irish citizens with the criteria, to ensure VRT is not avoided.
