I'll be in Venice on Monday, which is the feast of the Immaculate
Conception.
two quick questions,
Are there any events connected to the religious celebration that are worth
visiting ?
Will shops, museums, transport etc. be effected ?
thanks in advance

I don't know of any special events - just "normal" religious services
in the churches. Shopkeepers can decide whether to open or not,
though I expect department stores, some supermarkets and shops
in the most central areas will be open. Public transport timetables
on Sun/bank holidays (except Christmas and perhaps New Year's)
vary only very slightly from working days. This does not apply to
most neighbouring towns however.
