Newspaper yesterday reported that USAirways would soon start selling its meals
on flights longer than 700 miles.
Just national flights? Does anyone here know about its international flights?

Food is always served on international flights, free. They would lose
passengers if they get too fancy.

Does it have any? I don't think I've ever heard of the airline. As to
charging for meals, considering the usual quality of airline food, it
might improve if people were actually paying extra for it! (I notice
Magellans and some of the other travel supply outfits are now selling
insulated travel lunchboxes - perhaps this is a growing trend in airline
cost-cutting?)

Sure, they fly to major European cities -- Rome, London,
Amsterdam, etc.
PS I think the payment for meals is only on domestic flights,
so you'll
get a meal wo additional cost on international
flights....YUM!!!

USAirways = USAir, if that helps.
They are one of the big US airlines, lots of international flights to
European cities.
Flew them to Manchester England a couple of years ago.

Not unusual. They fly to MAN, LGW, CDG (used to fly to ORY), FRA, MUC,
FCO, AMS, MAD. For a short time they did try BRU service.

In May US Air added Dublin and Shannon. This is to be seasonal service.
Also US Air has recently become a member of the Star Alliance giving them
code share agreements all over Europe.

Their approval to join *A has been given but US is *not* a member of 8A
for the moment (wish it was as my GF and I have over 550,000 US miles
between the two of us)
