Hi...my friends and I are planning to visit Turkey next saturday. We are
going to Antalya and will stay there for 7 days....no business, only
pleasure![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So, what is there to see, where to go, what transportation to use, what to
eat....the usual. We are not interesting in night life and clubs. We'd like
to see as much as possible and spend as liitle as possible![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Any information and advice is welcome
Thx

Stacks of archeologicals between Antalya & Alanya (a great venue in itself).
Far too many to go into here.
If that's your interest, and after Googling etc., if you have any further
questions, please do.

The guidebook makes Anatalya sound like a great place to visit. It

Antalya is quite a nice city, dramatically located, with a view to
some awesome mountains on the other side of a large bay. It is a bit
touristy in places, and a bit frantic in the rest, but is not a bad
base at all. The main bus station is slightly out of town, but transit
is fairly easy. Don't bother with trains in Turkey.
If it drives you too mad, you can catch a bus to Olimpos, which is
extremely laid back and cheap backpackers haven complete with tree
houses you can stay in. You can kick back and do nothing, or explore
the impressive hills surrounding which are dotted with cool ruins.
After that, bus up to the eternal flame, which is impressive for about
5 minutes. You can stay there indefinitely for less than €20 a day.
It's a pity you don't have a bit more time, because Cappadocia
(spelling varies) can be reached in about 12 hours by bus, and is
utterly stunning.
Here's some photos I took when there, including some enormous penises,
so be warned! ;o)

Don't miss Termessos. Up in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere (but
close to Antalya) is a complete Greek city.
