I am planning on traveling to Lithuania later on this year - I am interested in
hearing from others who can share their thoughts with me - places to visit, places to
stay, cheapest airlines, whatever - all information appreciated!
Thank you!

Here's from my list of what to visit while I am there in early June: St Anne’s Church
(Sv. Onos baznycia) Applied Art Museum (the "cathedral cache" exhibit looks
interesting) Cathedral Gates of Dawn (city gate remodeled to house a miracle-working
icon) Higher Castle Museum (semi-restored ruins, a la Heidelberg, good view of city)
Lower Castle Museum (mostly ruins, archaeological site) KGB Museum (prison) Artillery
Bastion (medieval armor and weaponry, plus the bastion itself) National Museum (just
that, the history of Lithuania) Television Tower (historical site from 1991
independence, good view of region) Archaeology Exposition in Old Arsenal Building
(reputed to be a good exhibition - part of the National Museum) Sts Peter & Paul’s
Church Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit (mummy saints!) Frank Zappa statue (!)
Three Saints (statues atop Vilnius Cathedral) Hill of Three Crosses
Check out http://www.inyourpocket.com/Lithuania/Vilnius_see.shtml (where I got
most of the above). We're not staying, just passing through, so I can't say about
the hotels.
Hope that helps.

Make sure you check out http://www.pub.lt/ and also http://www.prieparlamento.lt both of which tend to be frequented by expats.
I certainly had many a good night there :-)
