Honorary Europe. My only problem with the post is asking for something

Because it is in no way attached to Europe, not even by a
submarine shelf? It's not even on the same tectonic plate? (In
fact, it's not on a tectonic plate at all.)

Iceland is in fact on the border between 2 tectonic plates and it is
also linked to both continents on either side by submarine ridges.
But tectonics do not determine what continent an area is considered to
be a part of, plate tectonics were not finally understood until the
1980s but people have been referring to continents for over 2000
years now.

Iceland is in fact on the border between 2 tectonic plates and it is
also linked to both continents on either side by submarine ridges.
But tectonics do not determine what continent an area is considered to
be a part of, plate tectonics were not finally understood until the
1980s but people have been referring to continents for over 2000
years now.

Iceland is on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and is split between the North American
and Eurasian plates. Iceland's culture and mindset is European.
