Default Swiss Airlines

I've been trying to call Swiss Airlines at 1-877-659-7947, but I
get the message "We're sorry. Your call can not be completed as
dialed. Please check the number and dial again."

I don't know if I have the correct number or not, and their web
site seems to be down, so I can't check it there. Does anyone
have an 800 number for them?

Yes, around a year and a half ago. But they've been replaced by
Swiss Airlines, the company I'm trying to contact. Although they
too have had their financial difficulties, they just (this past
Monday) joined the Oneworld Alliance, along with American
Airlines, British Air, etc.

1-877-FLY SWISS
(1-877-359-7947)

Thus small typo. 6 insted a 3 in your number.
Took me 40 seconds to look this up on the internet.

Thank you very much; I just got through to them. Out of
curiousity, where did you find it? I still can't get on the Swiss
Airlines web site.

Still not working here.

Thanks. I should have specified the country, but I assumed that
when I asked for an 800 number it would be clear. It's the US.

At any rate someone else has supplied the correct number.

"Swiss' is the airline that took them over, but they're supposedly in
trouble too. Too bad, Swissair was so wonderful!

The Company is called Swiss International Airlines and their website
is:

http://www.swiss.com

According to "contact us" on their website, their phone number is:

1-877-FLY SWISS
(1-877-359-7947)
24 hours

So you dialled the wrong number (one digit wrong).

And as the other poster remarked: Swissair went bankrupt, but Swiss
International Airlines is a different company (build on top of
Swissairs daughter company Crossair, which was not involved in the
bankrupcy).

As I understand it, British Airways will lend Swiss UKP 22 million and get
use of 16 slots at London Heathrow while the loan is being paid off. I also
hear that the slots will be transferred to BA after the loan is paid off.
So BA buys the slots for what may turn out to be free. It was rumored that
Swiss would have to shut down within the next couple of weeks if they hadn't
found a source of cash. Swiss is desperate.

BA will run some kind of joint service with Swiss on routes to Switzerland
at least.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3131278.stm

Rumors say Swiss has been talking to Lufthansa, but any deal there would
probably mean the end of Swiss as a company.

www.swiss.com
1-877-FLY-SWISS - looks like you were given the wrong number.

The original SwissAir went belly up a year or so ago. A consortium
headed by CrossAir, a Swiss regional airline picked up the route
network and became the Swiss flag carrier. Unfortunately, they're
struggling themselves and are looking at some kind of merger with
another airline.

Yes, that's the web site I was unable to get to yesterday. But I
just tried it again, and it seems fine now.

Yes, thanks. Someone else pointed this out too, and I've since
spoken with them.
