I am currently in the process of arranging a Horse Riding Trip to
Sweden during the week of 23rd-30th August.
I am travelling on my own and am considering tagging on a day or two's
sightseeing at the end before finally flying home. I know that most
of you are probably thinking a day or two is not long enough but apart
from not having enough days of holiday entitlement from work, I dont
want to tour on my own for too long.
The thing is since I am going to be on my own, I was wondering if
anyone knows of any day tours which I can take from Stockholm to see
the sights? So far I have only been able to find very short tours
lasting an hour or two or tours that have finished for the season by
the time that I will be there.I will probably have approximately 1 1/2
days to tour
Sweden during the week of 23rd-30th August.

not really an answer to your question, but I'm interested in Stockholm
myself and recently found this excellent website:
http://www.stockholmtown.com
maybe you can find what you want there; there's tons of information on
the site.

I wouldn't take a tour. It is a manageable, safe city on foot, and almost
everyone speaks English. A perfect place just to walk around with a guide book
and a map. It is beautiful and you are well-advised to take a day or two.

If the weather is good, rent a bicykle and cykle around town, Gärdet,
Djurgården, Gamla Stan, Fjällgatan, Norr Mälarstrand and so on, very nice.
Go to the tourist office at Kulturhuset on Sergels Torg to get information
on sights and tours, they will also tell you were you can rent a bike.
If it rains, well, there are lots of museums...
