Hey.
I've just arrived in spain for a 6 months Internship and i'm looking
for a good selection of one of those prepaid calling cards because its
damn expensive to make a call in an other way.
So far i've only come across the website www.justlanded.com but i
haven't tested it yet. Has anyone tested it?
It seems quite serious as they propose different services to
foreigners, i'm tempted to use their service but i just wanted feed
back if anyone has already used their service.
Thanks in advance

Damm expensive? Where do you call to? Do you call from your hotel or use a
mobile phone?

Based on your e-mail address, is it safe to assume that you're talking about
calling the UK from Spain?
At any rate, I was calling Canada and the US while I was in Madrid so I
don't know that the phone cards I was using will give optimal rates to the
UK but all you need to do is wander into any number of shops and ask for
"una tarjeta para llamadas internacionales" and if your Spanish is up to it,
you could also add in that you'll be using it to call the UK and ask for
suggestions. Try getting a smaller denomination first to try out the card
and check the quality of the connections it provides, etc.

Nope I've always bought physical phone cards from brick-and-mortar stores.
My suspicion with online purchases though is that if you're looking for a
phone card to make calls from Spain, your best bet would be a
Spanish-language website, I'd be paranoid that ones similar to what you've
posted are there to rip off the tourists.

The cheapest fare to phone from Spain is dialing 902 055 123. Then follow
instructions. The charge is local fare. You can try from a public phone. I
use this method to call every day to Troon (UK).
Why is it cheap? Because it's an Internet calling, the transmision quality
is as good as a normal call.
For everything you need to plan your travel have a look at www.espania.com
Cheers.

That might be a good option from a home phone, but from a public phone,
won't that be more expensive? We have similar services here in the UK. I
can actually call them for free from my mobile offpeak, and a nominal
amount from the landline, but if you used a payphone it would cost quite
a bit more.
In Spain, I just buy a phone card that has a toll free (is that 900?)
number- works out at about 3 euro cents per minute to the UK- from a
payphone.
