I'm planning a trip to Burgundy in November and renting a gite near
Saulieu and doing day trips from there. I was wondering if anyone had
any must-sees, favorite restaurants, etc. in the area.
also was wondering about the market days in burgundy. are there any big
markets like the ones on provence (i.e. ile sur la sorgue or st. remy).
thanks!

There's one in Beaune. IIRC, on a Friday or Saturday (probbaly the
latter)

Last year, we enjoyed a magical meal at the "Le Vendangerot" restaurant in the
village of Rully (a few miles south of Chagny).
See:

and

link to Le Vendangerot.
Enjoy...

Saturday is market day in Beaune and a great market it is too. Don't even
think about trying to park in the town centre, but park in the outskirts -
its not too far to walk.
If you want lunch, you'd be well advised to book or make sure you're
installed by 12:15.

For whom? Is there disabled parking near the market? I can walk about
50 yards only.
