Default seeking friends to organize a trip

Hello there,
I don't remeber where and when, but I read that there are several
websites where it is possible to organize a trip, or seeking friends to
travel with.

is there anyone of you who can help me?
My problem is that I need to find new friends to organize trips around
the Europe, especially sport trips (skiing, climbing etc).

Thanks in advance to anyone of you who will be able to help me,
in the meanwhile,
I wish you
Happy New Year

You've come to the right place. This is a very friendly newsgroup where
everybody is each other's dearest friend.

Have you considered contacting tour operators?

As you want to travel in Europe, I assume you speak a few of the most widely
spread european languages, so try and ask here
http://voyageforum.com/
or are you an american who wants to travel solely with US fellow citizens ?
Then Google will help, in french a lot of associations voyages based in
Québec.
Happy new year to you, careful who you're dealing with on this very
particular group !

Why not use your used friends?

BTW: Travelling alone is the best way to meet many interesting people,
sometimes even to make friends.

I sometimes notice people seeking travelling companions on the Lonely
Planet Website: http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com/categories.cfm?catid%
is the European bit. (There may be a sports/adventure holidays board
there, too.)

I have no idea if they succeed in finding them, though.

You could also try Gumtree and Craigslist, I guess.

Hi Runge,
I'm not american, and yes I speak 3 european languages. Therefore no
problems regading where people came from.

Due to the fact that this ng seems to be the right place to find
pals....who of you want to have a fantastic week (February/March)
skiing on the Dolomiti in Italy? It is the best place in Europe (but
Switzerland...) to ski.

No problem for organizing the trip, accomodation, transport etc.

Let me know, and
thanks for being my new friends

Hello Jens

> Why not use your used friends?

Skiing is impossible 'cause a friend of mine was injured last year
during an alpine skiing tour.
Another one got married this year....so no other foolish people to
share fun with.
Are you available? :-)

Maybe for visiting a city, but not if you want to have fun skiing,
diving or flying!
I don't believe that.

Let me know if you love skiing.

Then why wouldn't you take your brand new friends to Switzerland,
instead?

Yes, but I'm not your friend.

Skiing works very well alone, as you can concentrate on skiing. If
your definition of "skiing" is more the social life around skiing, you
might, however, be right. For me, it is very okay to jump in my car
in the early morning, go skiing for a day just by myself and come back
home in the evening. Anyway, when skiing alone, I have a certain
tendency to meet charming and sporty ladies. :-)

> Let me know if you love skiing.

Age and some afflictions (caused by earlier skiing accidents) are
unfortunately limiting the possibilities a bit ...

"I was going to go skiing, but instead I put on warm clothes, stood at the
top of the stairs, tore up two thousand pounds and threw myself down."
(British comedian Bradley Walsh)
