Sardinia (Sardegna) in july?

Hi,

I am traveling to Sardinia in mid July and the first few days of August
- I have booked a hotel for the first week but would like to travel
(hire car) around freely for the next 10 days.

Will I be able to get nice accomodation by just turning up or will most
places be booked out?

Thanks,
Derol4.

Since you are traveling in the very heaviest travel time in Italy I
wouldn't count of nice accomodation on the spur of the moment. If it
were me, I'd book before I go.

Most places WILL be booked out. You will be able to find
accommodation, but it will take time and patience. Personally I
wouldn't. It's an expensive place at the best of times, and isn't
setup for the impromptu visit unless you are prepared to sleep on the
beach!

Doesn't Berlusconi have a big place on the island?

He must have some spare rooms. ;)
