Me and the Missus are off to Sardinia for a week soon (BA check-in staff
willing!) and will be staying in Cala Gogone (near Dorgali) on the east
coast.
Does anyone have any must-do's or must see's in that area or in Cagliari
where we spend a day at either end of the holiday. We like scenery, diving,
food and the odd bit of culture.
Also, any advice on driving? I'm currently trying to decide whether to do
the scenic coastal road from Cagliari to Dorgali or take the faster main
roads (213 Km).
TIA

You could drop in on Tony Blair and his rich mate Berlusconi, I'm sure
you will be welcome. Luciano Pavaroti will be there singing for his
supper.

we did drive the coastal route up from Cagliari some years back- it took
about 3 days of leisurely driving. There are some great beaches down in
the extreme southeast, and not much else. Between Arbatx and Dorgali
there are the Monti dei Gennargenta. The east coast is pretty wild.

Thanks Tom - Would you say I'm being ambitious trying to do the coast road
to Dorgali in 6-7 hours (ie. 30Km per hour).?

It sounds possible if you went straight to Muravera. Our 3-day trip took
in Capo Carbonara.
