I'm arriving at the Rome airport (FCO) oat 11:00 am Sunday. I want to
take the bus to Siena. How / where do I connect from the airport to the
busses? Which bus line to use? Where are the bus terminals?
TIA

I'd take the train from Termini. Train service to Termini from the airport is
quite good. From Termini I think you will have to change trains in Chiusi.
Bus service is a lot harder to schedule from outside Italy unless you get lucky
and find someone in Italy, because buses are local rather than national. I know
there used to be a bus every few hours from Tiburtina Station, which you can
also reach from the airport by train quite easily.
There may be a bus directly from Fiumicino to Siena but I hope this will help if
you don't find one.
Here, I found the sight I was thinking of. Looks like a bus at 3.20 pm is your
best bet.

The bus leaves from the Tiburtina station in Rome (*not* Stazione
Termini). Sorry, I can't remember the name of the bus line or
where to find info on schedules.

I'd go for the train too, timetables are fairly easy to follow and they're
(fairly) quick and not at all expensive.
Enjoy Siena, it's lovely![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

In '01 I was planning the Siena to Rome leg by www.sena.it/index_e.htm
But rented a car for the entire trip instead, so no 1st hand info
.
The benefits seem to be, you get reserved seats and the bus drops you
*inside* the walls of Siena (Piazza Gramsci). Regards, Walter

There are two problems with the train. The first is you have to change
trains at Chiusi and this can be very confusing. The second is that the
train station in Siena is outside the city center so you would have to
either get a cab (a 5 minute ride into the city) or take the bus (up to 20
minutes).
Take the bus! That's what we do (here in Siena).
