As you seem to be the guy who has posted this elsewhere,
now that you've decided upon a pick-up point you don't
exactly have a free choice:

It will give you a list of the companies that operate from the airport.

The list is basically the usual companies that operate the world
over. I doubt that there is any difference between them in terms
of service, the difference is going to be down to price and
pick up arrangements at the specific location.

If nobody here can help you, there is an EDI newsgroup
alt.airports.uk.edinburgh who might be better informed.

Most of the usual worldwide operators are based at Edinburgh airport. You
could also try www.easycar.com who may be cheaper - they have affiliate
links with other car-hire companies now, as well as (in some locations)
operating their own fleet.
