I have looked at various sites such Hertz, Budget, Avis as well Eurocar and Auto-Europe.
However, the rates in Europe seems to be very expensive for an intermediate size cars (w/ auto transmission and A/C). They typically range in the $200 per day rate.
Does anyone know of rental car companies that offer something more reasonable (like $100/day)? We are looking for a vehicle to take 4 adults.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or experience.
Thanks in advance!!!

Rental prices vary a lot depending on where you are picking up the car. A
few years ago I went to Europe on a family matter, travelling with two
brothers and their wives. To rent a Mercedes for two weeks and returning
it to Paris was (in Canadian funds), $1,000 from Hamburg, $1800 from Paris,
$2400 from Amsterdam and $3600 from Copenhagen. Naturally, we opted for
Hamburg, went up through Denmark, back down into Germany then over to
Paris.

Why do you need A/T and A/C? Norway shouldn't be hot enough for A/C to
be an issue.

Norway has one of the highest, if not THE highest, car rental prices in
Europe. Also the highest fuel price (even higher than UK!). Hiring in a
neighbouring country, even Sweden, is likely to save you some money.
