Default questions on traveling through croatia

Hi all

We are going to stay in Croatia from 27th August to 17th September with
bicycles.

How much time is usually needed to buy and get into the boat before the
departure in a coastial boat?

Are there usually available tickets to buy the ticket just before
departure?

I'm seeing that accomodations surcharge a lot if you are going
to sleep for a less than 4 days (up to 100% in Istria for a single
night) so the travel becomes much more expensive.

Is this a usual practice in first half of september?

Is this a practice for camping too? I have seen http://www.camping.hr
and I haven't seen any reference about it.

I would prefer to put my luggage/money in a locker. I'm new to camping so
I don't know if that is a must for almost every camping to provide lockers. I
have not seen this facility in the provided facility table:
http://www.camping.hr/legenda/legenda.htm

any comments/experiences on these topics?

Thanks in advance

Ulisses

Default Re: questions on traveling through croatia

Hi,

Ferry tickets are usally available right before departure for
deck/space on local ferries, even international ones. Croatia ferries
are fine, albeit slow. depending on when you are travelling there are
plenty of resources for accomodation online. In additon pretty much any
island will have local office offering cheap (I guess around 20 euro a
night, this was in 2003, maybe a bit more now) for backbackers.

South Croatia - Dalamtia - Hvar, Dubrovnik, Mljet, and Korcula are the
nicest islands.

But that's just my personal opinion.

Good luck
