you can enter in the Schengen zone and move around for 90 days
but once you are of it
you will need a visa again to enter it.
tourists are allowed to be in the schengen zone for 90 days every 6 months.
( you can obviously divide the 90 days in as many trips as you like )

Now I'm really confused.

The above appears to imply that a second entry requires a second visa
while the below implies that you can enter as many times as you like.

There are many types of Schengen visas. They may be valid for a single entry
or for multiple entries. Maximum length of stay is specified in the visa.
