Default protecting your valuables

Have just found a great website - your can upload all the details of
your travel documents and valuables and then access it anywhere in the
world. If anything gets stolen you can print off a police report so
you get a crime number to report to the insurance company and get your
money back.

What a great idea. Or you could just email images of all your credit cards,
etc., to me.

Forgive me if I feel a bit apprehensive about sending all my personal
details and important documents to some random website!

In the past I have just scanned my docs and emailed them to a webmail
address.

On the way to you. Including all the PINs and the security digits too! Thank you
for looking after them all for me.

That sounds like a great idea. Give these people all the details they
need to clone your identity.

Our UK comrades may wish to file a complaint on this blatant fraud.
First priority is to get the phish website shut down, for which the
point of contact is [email protected] . Additional information that
may be of use:

Second priority is to pull the account from which the posting was
made, which is a cable modem at blueyonder.co.uk (possibly hijacked,
but that's beside the point). Telewest/Blueyonder has a reputation
for turning a blind eye to spam and abuse, though this is partly
compensated by their technical ineptitude. Perhaps being complicit in
a fraud may wake them up:

Why bother? I just send all my information to myself and go to my
account when I need some information I've forgotten. Anyone can do it
from anywhere. It's probably more secure, too.

OK, I'll do that just as soon as I hear back from the nice Nigerian
gentleman who I'm helping out right now.

Have you collected your Spanish Lottery winnings from the Rome PO box
yet?

I am one of the developers of this site (I won't name it again for
spam reasons), and can I first apologise for the spam message in the
first post? It was posted by a well-wishing member of the site,
and not by one of our staff.

We treat all accusations of security and fraud with the upmost
importance and this is one of the bedrocks on which the site stands.

I have read through some of the comments here, and have actively taken
them on board. To answer a few points, we do not ask for or store any
credit card or address details from users (indeed even our own staff
cannot access any stored information) - just offer a place where
customers can store a record of the valuables that they are taking
with them on a trip.

Again, many apologies for the spam message.

Another top tip for you- make sure you write the PIN numbers on the
_back_ of the cards- lest you forget them!

Bullshit. This was the only post ever made from
[email protected] . And coincidently your apology also comes
from a Google account, and (of course) you have made no other posts
ever with this account.

Utter bullshit if ever I have heard it.

I hope no-one is dumb enough to use your site. The concept is stupid,
possibly illegal, and doomed to disappear into net oblivion in the
future at some point, making it totally unreliable at best.

Why would anyone use your service when they can just email the stuff
to themselves?
