Prepaid SIMS in Ireland, Italy and Turkey??
We are planning to purchase sims in Ireland, Italy and Turkey over the
period July to September. I KNOW I can buy sims for all three over the net!
What about in the country. Italy seems OK judging from an earlier thread -
anyone any experience in Ireland or Turkey??

You can buy them in any European country, usually from news dealers, or mobile
phone stores, which are even more numerous than news dealers these days. Once
you have the SIMM you can purchase additional minutes for it everywhere.

You can buy them in any European country, usually from news dealers, or mobile

You can buy a SIM-pack in Ireland no problem for any of the three networks.
Meteor has cheaper calls but patchy rural coverage, other two are good. It
costs around 19 euro with 10 euro call credit, and you can top-up using
vouchers or credit card (requires registration). Charges vary, but around 15
cent/min off-peak, 45 cent/min peak inland, sometimes with set-up fee of 15
cent or so. Calls abroad cost around 1-2 euro/min.
No experience for Turkey, but I've heard from other travellers that
SIM-packs are widely available.

Thanks all - looks as if there'll be no problem. Situiation re sim cards is
similar to Australia!!
