Why would anyone want to drink ANYTHING if "the taste isn't
too bad"? In that case, why not just drink water! (Even

Why would anyone want to drink ANYTHING if "the taste isn't
too bad"? In that case, why not just drink water! (Even
tap-water, although in some places "mineral" water might be
preferable.)

Sometimes water has an unpleasant taste as well. Also, water is ... water,
and doesn't have the substance or texture of other drinks. A glass of milk or
a smoothie or something like that has more substance to it.

True, but the implication was that you were drinking it
because you were thirsty - water seems a better choice than
something sweet, if you are simply seeking to slake thirst.
The logic of paying for a beverage of which your only
positive statement is "the taste isn't too bad" escapes me.
Tap water is free, bottled water (other than "designer"
brands) is cheap and as flavourless as makes no matter - why
choose coke?
