With all the talk about Europeans being hostile to anyone traveling to
Europe who cannot prove French ancestry within the past 3 generations,
I'm wondering if I'll have any trouble during my trip to Finland.
Would also like hotel recommendations. Need good air conditioning.

Same thing, you'll have to prove French ancestry to the Finns also.

I could give you some recommendations, but they wouldn't be pretty.

The following may be suitable. They serve a good breakfast of raw
herring but unfortunately the krill are not fresh.

I wish outer space guys would conquer the Earth and
make people their pets, because I'd like to have one
of those little beds with my name on it.

No, you won't.
The talk of hostility to Americans in Europe is just nonsense.
I would guess that the people who are complaining that they received
"hostile" treatment were just blatantly rude or obnoxious, and most likely
deserved it.
If you approach people politely, and at least attempt to try speaking their
language, then you will, by and large, get a positive reaction.

And furthermore, if those boys in the allied forces can manage to be out in
the real battle without complaints, why shouldn't the average tourist manage
to find out how the reality is in Europe ?

What are "penquins"? Are they related to penguins?
