I have a 10:30 AM flight from De Gaulle in a couple of weeks. The
night before, will be arriving into Paris from the south. Can you
please recommend a moderately priced hotel for an area in Paris that's
near the B Line to De Gaulle?

I suppose it depends on what you think is moderate and what day you are
departing on.
This spring we were leaving on Sunday. We got a decent rate at a
business hotel at the airport Sofitel I think. About 125 euro or so for
2 with breakfast on the internet. The place was pretty deserted. I
suspect that it would have been 2-3x as much on Wednesday when they
would be crowded. If you are on the weekend search the airport places.

what we did in a similar circumstance is stay at the Novotel which is
right atop the RER line at the airport -- the next morning, you have a
leisurely breakfast at their ample buffet [included in our room] and
then take the shuttle to your terminal
We went into Paris for the evening for dinner and to walk around [circle
Notre Dame at night -- gorgeous] and then took the RER back to the hotel
and didn't have the morning hassle.
CDG really does take from 2 to 3 hours to get on the plane in our recent
experiences -- so it is handy to not have to come in from town

On airport hotels are very expensive. Check out the Envergure group at
http://www.envergure.fr/climatdefrancefr.html. Their Climat de France
hotels are excellent, value and comfort (especially their restaurants).
Since there isn't one near the airport, check out their other chains. They
have easy access by free shuttle to the airport.

Of course their English language site doesn't work. Try to search & you
get a 404 error. Stick to places that work.

We stayed at the IBIS right at Roissy-CDG last summer. It was less
than 100 Euros, pretty spartan, but convenient. It is right at the RER
station and there is a shuttle bus to CDG, takes only a few minutes in
the morning.

Works fine for me. Maybe it was a momentary glitch. Just remember to
search for "Roissy" as the town and not Paris. They have the
Campanile-ROISSY, Kyriad Prestige-ROISSY , Côte à Côte-ROISSY / CDG and
Première Classe-ROISSY in their portfolio that are with 5km of CDG.

Sorry but it's the search button that gets the 404 error. You never get
to specify the location that you are looking for. I just checked and it
crashes for the French (Rechercher) button as well. Perhaps they just
don't like Americans.

I get the same (non-)result, using both Safari and IE on Mac.
So it's not just Americans it doesn't like (but see my earlier comments
about France and the Internet :-)

I have replicated the problem...click on "Hotel Guides" (near the bottom,
next to 'Version Française') to get to the Groupe Envergure page and then on
"DISCOVER" (near the top of the page). This works fine. The first link to
get to the above is http://www.envergure.fr/climatdefrancefr.html

OK! I finally wandered to the search page. You go to Hotel Guides and
then click on the Group LOGO at the top right. This brings up the group
page. There if you click "Discover" the search page comes up. Unlike
the "Discover" buttons on the other pages which bring up panoramic views.
It is an interesting site but they do need to do a bunch of maintenance.
I ran into other 404 errors while trying to find the search.
My newest problem is that the ? button "link to A2_Rechercher.jsp#" does
not appear to be active.

The point is you can get the information using the method I suggested.
Their hotels are well worth considering. When we had an early flight from
Lyon we had the choice of the Novotel (about 200 a night) or Climat de
France (80). We figured for 1 night we could take the lesser accomodations.
The hotel was clean, neat and only about 2 minutes from the terminal on the
airport itself. The restaurant gave us one of the best dinners we had on
the whole trip, whole dover sole on the bone among other choices. The rooms
were small (which aren't in France?) but comfortable and well sound proofed.

Why do you guys need big rooms ??
What do you want to do there - play basketball, rugby, maybe waterpolo, or invite 300
people for a drink?
A place to sleep and to keep your belongings in is not enough, I suppose...
