Every Irish national who wants to settle in Paris opens a pub, so there
are vast numbers of such outlets in the city. Walk a hundred metres in
most of the touristy parts of town and you'll come across some sort of
"Irish pub."

The same is true in Italy, although I was once told that most of them were
owned by defrocked clerics. The truth is likely not so romantic, and the
landlords are more likely astute business folk with a good eye for the main
chance and the travelers' wallets. Many of the Irish pubs appear to be
staffed by wandering Irish folk, Irish barmen and barmaids having replaced
the Wild Geese of yore, there being a lower number of avenues for foreign
enlistment these days (out side the Church that is...).

Beer + reasonable prices + France?
You question doesn't make sense.

Neither does your calling Padraig a troll, which was at least funny. If
anything, *your* post was a troll.

Mxsmanic 's helpful reply invalidates both your points.

You can get beer at any Brasserie of course, but also at any café.
Personally I'd rather be in an interesting place than worry about a euro or
two.

It's more than a Euro or two - more like three times the price than at home.

Thank you for making the charitable interpretation, Tim.

Perhaps it is time for me to elaborate on my response.

1. starting position: elbows by my side, forearms extended and
splayed, hands open, palms upward;
2. movement: head inclines slightly to my right, slight haussement of
the shoulders, corresponding raising of the eyebrow.

Gummo, when you get to Paris, you will encounter such responses.
