Does anyone have any suggestions for finding a long term rental (think
student's budget) in Paris. I've tried many web sites and classified
sites - but still with no luck.
Is it very difficult to find a place quickly once in Paris? I have
about a week in a hostel before I need a room or studio.

Maria,
When you get to Paris inquire at your school's housing office. Also
check the bulletin boards at the American Church (metros Alma or
Invalides) and the Shakespeare & Company bookstore (metro Maubert
Mutualite). You can read some of my experiences at

Maria,
