Padua in Easter?
 

My wife and I are planning a trip to Le Marche in late March, and will
end by taking a train to Ravenna for a day or two and then Padua for a
day or two, and then Venice for a few days. We were wondering whether
traveling over Easter week is a bad idea, as we know this to be a very
big holiday in Italy. Our plan is to be in Ravenna right before
Easter, and Padua for Easter Sunday. Our thinking is that by the time
we get to Venice it will be the Monday after Easter, and perhaps the
crowds will have thinned. We want to try and time things so we are
not fighting crowds on our vacation. Any thoughts anyone???

Padova and Ravenna are quite calm and relaxed towns. Not like Florence of
Venice at all.
As a university city, Padova has a nice atmosphere but when you'll be there,
they are away for holidays.

well. easter monday is called in Italy Pasquetta ( small easter )

I guess a lot of people will be still around. expecially if the weather is
good..-

do you have a special reason to be in Marche ??
there are a lot of things to see between Ravenna and Pesaro..
First of all : san Marino and Rimini itself
then the castles of San leo and Gradara ( Marche)
then of course Urbino ( Marche )

I would not miss Loreto and the caves of Frasassi ( the second biggest in
Italy )

This doesn't directly answer your question, but: as tile mentioned, I
definitely wouldn't miss Urbino if you're in the area and haven't been
there before. San Marino and Rimini would be much lower priorities for me,
though if the weather is clear you should get some great views from the
former.

We liked the Hotel Centrale Byron in Ravenna.
