Our vacation in the Var
We spent 9 days in the south of France staying
at
http://www.lesquatresaisons.org/english/index.htm
We had the room "Cherche Midi"
http://www.lesquatresaisons.org/english/rooms2.html
on to the pool.
We know the two men who run the place since
they had a restaurant we sent to for years
on the rue Cherche Midi near where we live.
We also ate diner at their place, a nice veranda
high on a hill side looking out to the sea
between Toulon and La Ciotat. The food is good,
and provincal in character befitting the region.
The slide show

gives a feeling for the place. The breakfasts are shown
on the bottom photo, included with the price of the room.
Expensive? The prices are better than some a dumb old
motel in south Florida in high season. The place is at the
lower end of the classy level and comfortable to stay at.
Gaston had to put up with their bossy French bull dog, Thor.
(bouledogue in French, in this region they protect the
boules, a local game the peasants play).
On motoring south and back we in Bourg en Bresse
for its chickens. You get an idea from the
photo
http://www.bourg-en-bresse.org/english/deg_me.html.
These chickens are like no others in the world,
my mouth is watering think about the ones we had!
Well, life it tough and we are back in Paris having
to tolerate its mundane offerings.
