That, my friend, is your big mistake. Broadcast media are a product,
tailored for a market. In the US the brainless bigot market is
particularly lucrative. Ergo, Fox.

You live in cloud cuckoo land. Sometimes, even the BBC is neither.

You clearly have trouble with commentary versus hard news, but it is
understandable... Friday's front page of Le Monde had a cartoon on it.

The Right to political speech is protected in the U.S., no mater what
the content is, as is the Right to rebut that speech. Moreover,
reporters are not subject licence granted by the state.

He didn't really. The reference is clearly to Mika from the number of
prefixes. What he did is leave in your citation while removing
everything that Mika quoted from you. At least be grateful that he left
in Mika's citation.

The single-line right-left paradigm for political opinion is probably inadequate
in times such as these. People think of Hitler as right-wing and Stalin as
left-wing, but we wouldn't want either in charge of government. Probably the
scheme that makes the most sense is at http://www.self-gov.org/quiz.html

Faint hope of that, in today's America! (But rather than
emigrating, those of us who perceive the problem should be
working to correct it.)

If only it were merely a joking matter! (Of course, you are
fortunate enough not to live here.) GWB's saber-rattling
seems to be turning toward Iran, after that probably North
Korea - if we survive them, who's next? (If we continue to
"extend the benefits of democracy" on such a scale, does
anyone REALLY believe the "draft" will not soon be reinstated?)

you're so funny, Jay. Rather than ponder the crappiness of Fox
and the damage it might be doing, you spout some old Land of the
Free and our wonderful constitution and ignore the problem.

I think the ownership and operation of the broadcast media
constitutes a real threat to effective democracy in the west.
Look at Italy. Look at Fox.
