North Devon

My family emigrated from England (to Canada) when I was 13. I'd like to go
back to the area we used to take our holidays in every year, in North
Devon, but it's been 20 years now. I've got nothing but the best memories
of the place, as do my parents--can someone confirm that it's still a
lovely place? We used to go to Croyde Bay, near Woollacombe. Baggy Point
was beautiful, and I remember quite a few other places nearby well. I
think I'd break down if I got there and it was very changed, for the
worse--the town I've lived in in Canada has changed a lot in 20 years.

I'd be there in mid-June with my girlfriend, and we'd hope to camp, to
save money. Thanks for any advice, or news on changes over the last two
decades!

North Devon is pretty much on my doorstep, and I've been going there
for some 20 years.

Certainly Lynton and Lynmouth remain relatively unchanged - pleasant
little towns with the hills of Exmoor as a backdrop. The Valley of
Rocks is still a fine place for a wander, as is the South-West
Peninsula Coastal Path either towards Porlock or Hunters Inn.

All in all a great area to spend time in, although I have to admit I'm
less keen on Ilfracombe - too many people.
