Default Night ferry from Ancona Italy to Patras Greece

Greetings! Has any member has travelled from Ancona to Patras by the
night ferry? How long is the trip? How choppy is the ride? I am
thinking of taking a trip to Italy and Greece? With thanks.

I traveled the reverse - Patras to Ancona...if you are talking about
the Superfast ferry, it is a gargantuan boat ...and there is no
choppiness...very smooth.. we booked a sleeper and it was one of the
best nights of sleep I had in a month of travel... I think it was
about 19 hours or so - we left about 8pm, arrived 3-4 pm the next
day...

Depends on the time of year, it's not at all choppy at this time of
year.

We prefer Venice to Patras.

We took the car to Greece for the first time earlier this year. We
tried the shortest crossing from Brindisi to Igoumenitsa, but the drive
down the east coast on the crappy Italian Autostrada was extremely
tedious.

Venice seems a better idea -- hopefully next year.

Yes, but some years back. The ride was like being on a lake. I recommend
you get a cabin if you can afford it. Sleeping on deck is not a good
idea- it is very windy, and the humidity condenses at night, soaking
everything with water.

The ferry leaves Ancona in early evening and arrives at Patras in early
afternoon the next day. It was a beautiful smooth ride. We drove the
car onto the ship and then drove across Greece.
