Just came back from a Prague experience. I attended two opera
concerts, eat incredibly good, met lots of people, and in general had
an incredible time. At this time of the season (December) it's not a
problem getting opera tickets, although for the best locations might
be a different story.
It's incredibly cold, and the cold that penetrates the clothes! so
take a good set of gloves, a hat, scarf, a good coat and if possible,
underpants.
On the downside of the story, a guy got approached by a girl who put
her hands on her balls and took his money; she flew away. This story
is pretty common.
But in general, if you just use common sense, there should be any
problem.
I exchanged my euros at a bank and they take only 2% and the exchange
rate is good.
Make sure you do the right thing with the transportation (bus, etc)
tickets as they are unmerciful fining; a friend of mine got fined for
having bought a children's ticket; and it was his first ride! (on the
way from the airport to the hostel). Remember also to buy a ticket
for additional luggage!
Learn a few words so you can at least can say 'hi', 'thank you',
'bye'; I'm sure they appreciate
In general, a beautiful city, great people, great food, and really
cheap.

So the moral to that travelogue is to wear pants in Prague and don't go near
transvestites..

Don't get this-you mean she grabbed him, demanded money like a
mugging, which he handed over, and then she fled? Or was it a sexual
come-on?

It was around 3am and he was a little bit drunk. He was walking to
the hostel and a girl approached him and put her hands on over his
pants; it was a sexual come-on; no violence or mugging whatsoever.
