Muslim Gang Murders Man With Cricket Bats In SE England!

Gang faces life for cricket bat killing Jul 29 2004
Wimbledon Post
SRI LANKAN gang members who battered a laundry boss to death with
cricket bats for embarrassing a relative are facing life sentences.
The men ambushed Sellathurai Balasingham, 36, just yards from his home
in Glamorgan Close, Mitcham.
Neighbours saw the father-of-one being bludgeoned about the head and
found him lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
Mr Balasingham later died in hospital from his injuries.
The murder was planned by Jathies Santharatnam, 29, after his uncle
claimed he had been insulted by the victim at work.
Santharatnam, of Commonside East, Mitcham; Prabu Santharatnam, 22, of
no fixed address; Nimalan Nadarajah, 24, from Strood, Kent; and
Mayuran Seevaratnam, 24, also from Strood, were found guilty of the
murder by a jury after a three-month trial at the Old Bailey.
Nimalrajah Thambithurai, 24, of Coverton Road, Tooting; Mukundan
Kumarasritharan, 24, of Mount Road, Mitcham; and Ulthayathas
Balasubramanian, 28, of Gala Close, Mitcham, were cleared of murder
but convicted of conspiracy to commit an assault.
Jathies Santharatnam hatched the sophisticated plot to attack Mr
Balasingham to restore his uncle's honour after an argument at the
Sunlight laundry in Deer Park Road, Sutton.
Jeremy Donne QC, prosecuting, said: "The attack was not a random act
of violence. The uncle complained he had been insulted by the deceased
and wanted something done about it."
Mr Balasingham was followed as he drove back from a late shift at 11pm
on November 6, 2001, to his home.
The gang blocked possible escape roads and used mobile phones to relay
his position.
Witnesses saw four men chase the victim and then heard screams.
Teenagers Gemma Wear and Jason Scully saw him being hit about the head
with a cricket bat as he lay on the grass near Kent Close.
After the gang fled, Jathies Santharatnam told friends to spread false
descriptions of the attacker throughout the Sri Lankan community.
He and Prabu Santharatnam were convicted of perverting the course of
justice.
The four men will be sentenced in September this year.
I have been to Kent more than once. I doubt I will be going back to
Kent or the UK.

mugged. do they? And how many of these muggers were armed? And how
many of the people being mugged were armed? How about we arm ourselves
to protect ourselves against unarmed muggers. Then the muggers can
also arm themselves, and woohoo - we have shooting rates as high as
you enjoy! Would a mugger dare NOT have a weapon in the US? Does the
likelyhood of his victim carrying a gun make him not commit the crime?
Or pull a gun before the victim does?
By the way, the statistics your author used were wrong - go check out
the British Crime Survey for the real figures - overall crime down,
violent crime down. Interestingly we had a big rise in the murder rate
caused by one man's killing spree - would a single man have such a big
impact on US murder rates?
And good look with the firearm issue. Expect to get no further than
Heathrow Airport.

Actually, most 'muggings' are of the strong arm variety. Criminals
often know quite a bit about the Law... Muggers know the price of the
crime goes up exponentially with the use of a weapon...Then called
"Armed Robbery"...
