I'm considering making the treck from the U.S. to Munich on the
weekend of October 4th to attend the final weekend of Octoberfest.
Any suggestions on an budget hotel for that weekend or are the rates
all crazy because of the festivities?
Thanks,
Dave

Get the first room that you can afford. Many hotels have their
Oktoberfest period booked out already.

Exchange the weekend to a date in the midweek and you may have a fair chance
to get anything. In the weekend ,especially this coinciding with the
national day October 3, it's very crowded. Anyway , try to shop around
the hotels but expect the prices to be raised 30-40% above rack rate.
Many if not most hotels are already fully booked so I'm afraid it's not
possible to recommend anything specific.
Better possibilities if you're prepared to stay on some distance as
Augsburg,Landshut or so

One time I was in Munich and did NOT want to go to the Oktoberfest, the
only hotel I could
get was in Augsburg, with a train ride full of drunks.

It is really a funny idea to visit Munich during Oktoberfest if you
don't want to dig into it :-)
My company is in Munich and we would never schedule a meeting with
people who must stay overnight here during these 2 weeks unless the
visitor wants to go to the festival.

Hi i would like to know the dates of october fest: are the last 2
week-end of september lasting the 5th october? Do you think is a good
suggestion to go with auto-caravan? There are car parking safe and
free in the center?
To budget the trip do you know how much is the average price of a beer
there? and how much is for eat?
Do you suggest me some nice place or pub where go?
thank you
bye

I think other's have already answered this.
But no-one has mentioned that it will be even busier than busy
because it is a Public holiday weekend as well.
