I am traveling to Munich in the Fall and would like to know the best way
to get into the city. Approximately how many euros is a cab ?
Does the Lufthansa airport shuttle bus go into the city or does it stop
only at the train station? Is there a train at the airport that goes
into the city? thanks for any and all the help available .

Wild guess: over 50. The airport is quite remote from the city.

Yes there's an station of the Munich S-Bahn (suburban rail) system in the
airport. You should use that.

It is about a 40 - 45 min train ride from the airport to München
(Hauptbahnhof). There are two different "Schnellzug" lines (S1, S8) -
giving a connection from the airport every ten minutes .
Last month I paid 9€ for a day ticket , that covered transportation
to and from the airport as well as transportation within München.
Don´t know what a single ticket would cost, but a fair guess would be
about 6-7€.
A cab will most likely be a pricey option as the distance to the city
is almost 40 km (25miles)

S-Bahn. "Schnellzug" is something else: a category of long distance trains.

OK , S-Bahn it is.
Anyway , I just figured out that the price of a single trip ticket
from the airport to München is 8€.

If I remember, there should be also multiple tickets for people
travelling together, so that a family could spare several euros
travelling on a multiple ticket instead of having a single ticket for
each person.

A single ticket from the airport to (any place in Munich) is EUR 8,00.
A day ticket which covers also all Munich (incl. the airport) is EUR 9,00.
Thus in most cases this is the ticket to go for.
A partner day ticket which is valid for up to 5 people travelling together
is EUR 16,00. I.e. there no reason at all to buy ever two single tickets for
two persons.
Tickets for inner Munich (zone 1-4; not incl. the airport) are cheaper
(exactly 50%).
