Mousehole
We are trying to arrange a week's holiday in Mousehole, Cornwall in
September. Haven't been successful in securing a cottage yet. Any
recommendations would be appreciated. We are coming from Canada -
heading for the northeast first to pick up mother. Can we drive down
to Mousehole in one day do you think? Thanks!!

It takes a long time to drive down Cornwall. (pronounced
mows-all) York-Mousehole 8 hours. Friday night/Saturday morning
you can get traffic jams in the holiday season. We took 7 hours
to do London-Somerset at the weekend.
The pub is "The Ship" which has accommodation.

I used to do Preston - Penzance on a Friday and Sunday. I wouldnt wish
such a journey upon anyone. Stop overnight en-route is you can.

Re: Mousehole
You could try the National Trust. They have lots of nice cottages. I
didn't see any directly in Mousehole but there are lots in the
vicinity.
