Hi all,
In the US and Canada, I use a number of mapping websites - Rand
Mcnally, MapQuest, etc - but I'm unable to find an equivalent for
driving around Europe, specifically UK. Can anyone suggest a site
where I can put-in two towns and get directions or distances between?
Thanks,
Alex.

We used the Michelin site last year for a one month trip from Hamburg north
to Husum, southwest to Berlin, south to Prague, west to Würzburg, west to
Trier, east to Heidelberg, east to Amberg, south to Munich. The directions
were great, and we were quite happy with the whole drive. The site is a
good choice.

Sorry about the error, should have been southeast from Husum to Berlin. My
error, not the guide.

For Britain, I think www.multimap.com is the best. Very good with postal
codes, great maps. The AA doesn't have great maps at small scale, and its
interface is slow and awkward. www.mappy.co.uk doesn't recognize common
tourist attractions and won't accept postal codes as a substitute.
www.viamichelin.com doesn't seem to handle round trips, i.e. excursions.

Perhaps in the GB, but I tried it out with some addresses in France,
Switzerland, Luxembourg and Denmark, and no luck on either of them.
