Looking for reviews of Hotel Enrica in Rome
 

Hi!

I am looking for a hotel in Rome in June, and I found one with
a reasonable price (65 euro per night for a double room with
bathroom, breakfast not included) called Hotel Enrica. It is a
small one star hotel located in the city center (nearby the
Termini station). I can't find any reviews for that hotel
online. In a desperate attempt to try to get some feeling for
that hotel, I ask here if by any chance someone would know
about it (or even could suggest an alternative for a similar
price).

I don't know that hotel, but I know another one in the vicinity of
Termini Station, with similar prices:

I have stayed at this hotel three times and have been well satisfied
with the value offered for the low price. It is clean and comfortable,
and run by a very nice family who live on the premises. The
neighborhood is a bit rundown and it's not near many of the main
tourist sites, although it is an easy walk to the Roman Forum.

I would mention however, that once when I got a single room, it was
long and narrow with the window far from the bed, and the air
conditioning wasn't terribly efficient. However, the double rooms had
better ventilation and more efficient air conditioniong.

If you will be in Rome for several days, you might want to spend a bit
more and get a hotel in a nicer and more convenient neighborhood. I
only stay at the Lucia for very brief visits to the city.

I'm glad you've gotten good use out of them too. My mum still comments
on what a nice place that was.

Watch it, Barbara, or I'll post what really happened there, much to
your apparent and continuing dismay. Your nasty insistence that I'm
somehow exagerrating is pissing me off, and that's apparently what you
intend. We all know it's "Italy right or wrong" with you, but, lady,
that's not the case with me. Keep it up and I'm going to post warnings
every time anyone even mentions Termini. "Raped, drawn and
quartered"??? You want escalation on this by not letting it lie, by
trivializing my experiences so that Italy doesn't look bad? I'll damn

This guy had one incident near Termini like fifteen years ago, and
can't stop going on about how unsafe it is.

It isn't Disneyland, it's a somewhat run-down, but fairly safe part of
a real-life large city, and there are good reasons to stay there if
you're on a budget and have only a few days (since there are lots of
cheap hotels in the area and you are either a short walk or short
train ride from most of the sights).

If you take the same precautions you would in any other large city
(most importantly, wear a money belt and never leave bags unattended),
there's a 99% chance you won't have a problem.

You are in far more danger from the drivers in Rome than from crime.

Uh, no. Six incidents in three days. And I was willing to cool it, but

Huh? You opened it, surely. Barbara posted about hotels in the area and
wrote that:

I think most people who've stayed there would agree with that.

At our first evening meal in Lisbon, a thief stole money out of a (very
careless) diner's bag, and a fight ensued between the thief and one
waiter (fisticuffs), then two waiters, then all the cooks and other
staff. They pinned him in the door (really!) then had him on the ground,
then he managed to escape and ran out. Then, in a rain shower, the
waiters chased him down Avenue Liberdade until he lost them. It wasn't
quite The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover, but was still pretty
entertaning.
