I personally wouldn't stay in Bayswater and especially on Queensway.
It's not a very nice place IMO.
I can recommend a B&B Hotel near Paddington Station which is not far
from there. It's the Ashley Hotel and they have a web site
http://www.hotel-london.co.uk/hotel.php?hotel_id=36
Check out the guestbook reviews. I personally can agree with all of
them.
It is really three hotels in one and used to trade under all three
names - Ashley, Tregarron or Oasis. It was run by two welsh
brothers and currently by the son of one of them.
I have been staying there for over 20 years and I really like it. It
is very family orientated so if you are the party animal who likes to
party into the wee small hours and sing your way to bed - forget it.
They (used to) turn the public phones off at 10:00pm so that the
guests won't be disturbed.
You get a good english cooked breakfast (typical B&B) with as much tea
and toast as you can eat. It never varies
)
They have ensuite rooms but I tend not to pay for these as there are
plenty of bathrooms and toilets. However ensuite may be more
convenient for a couple or family.
Elevators? what are they? If you choose to go on the 4th floor
you will soon get fit
