There is a bus every 30 minutes that stops at Lime Street station.
It's not direct as it also stops at the bus station, but I think it is what
you want.

There are bus services from the airport to the centre of the city, and
they certainly go by Liverpool Lime Street station- that's where I've
gotten on and off. This is the main station in the city. However, there
is a Liverpool Central station (forgive me if you know that, and I'm
stating the obvious!) and that is walkable (5 minutes) from Lime Street.
I know that the bus from the airport passes very close to Central, but
it definitely doesn't go right past, and I'm afraid I don't remember if
it makes a stop- near the Adelphi hotel would be the closest stop to
Central. Ask the driver when you board. Central is a station serving
local destinations- in particular the lines from Hunts Cross up to
Southport, Ormskirk and Kirkby. The Wirral line goes between Lime Street
and Central, however, in case you don't want to walk. If walking isn't
an issue, you'll probably find it quicker to do so however!

Thanks for the prompt and comprehensive reply, I've made enquiries with Rail
Track and I can get to Lime St station instead of Central by using a
different connection at Chester, so the problem is solved.
Many thanks

Well, if you're travelling by train from Chester to Liverpool, you'd
arrive at Lime Street one stop before Central anyway...

As mentioned there's a bus line to Liverpool city area.
However, to my experience, it was a slow one with many stops.
Possibly faster is to jump off the bus at Garston and take the train running
directly to Liverpool Central. I've tried both.

Wrong bus?

www.easyjet.co.uk

by rail

The new Merseybus service, no. 81a, connects the airport with Hunts
Cross Station. The journey takes just 8 minutes, costs £1 per person,
and the buses depart every 30 minutes from outside the airport
terminal. From Hunts Cross, trains then depart every 10 minutes for
Liverpool City Centre and every 30 minutes for Warrington (Central)
and Manchester (Piccadily). Passengers then wishing to travel to other
areas of the UK will find a wide range of conections from Liverpool
Lime Street and Manchester Piccadily.

Alternatively, Runcorn Station is a ten minute taxi journey from the
airport and lies on the west coast main line to London, Birmingham,
and the south west.

For Rail Enquiries call 08457 484950, or check out
www.thetrainline.com.

by bus

"easyJet passengers can take advantage of a non-stop coach service
between Liverpool airport and the city centre. The Number 500 service
makes use of the brand new "Smart Bus" which is suitable for
wheelchair and pram users, as well as having plenty of luggage space
for bulky suitcases.

With a journey time of just 20-25 minutes between the airport and the
heart of Liverpool, the service is ideal for all city centre
facilities including Lime Street train station and Paradise Street bus
station, as well as many hotels and tourist attractions. The service
runs every half an hour in both directions - at 15 minutes and 45
minutes past the hour directly outside the terminal building at the
airport, and at 25 minutes and 55 minutes past the hour outside Lime
Street station in the city centre. The one-way fare for adults is £2,
and only £1 for children. A family ticket is available for just £5,
covering up to two adults and four children. Local Saveaway tickets,
Trio passes and Zone tickets are also valid for this route.

Alternatively, the Number 80A bus, operated by Arriva, departs every
15 minutes for Liverpool City Centre (every 30 minutes after 6pm)
Monday-Saturday. On Sundays, Bus No. 180 operates until 10am and is
then served by No. 80A, departing every 30 minutes. All buses stop at
a number of Liverpool suburbs before terminating at Liverpool city
centre."

Was no non-stop coach when I travelled but probably that option is a good
one.

The best option is to check the Easyjet site before traveling. It
seems to be reliable.
My two kids used to use Liverpool, each time they did connecting
arrangements transport had changed. I don't think there was a non
stop bus last time they used it either.
