Lavender

Can anyone give me some advice about seeing lavender in France?

Thanks,

Paula.

Hi

It is grown inland in Cote d'Azur, Provence and Languedoc as a cash crop.

The perfume museums in Grasse follow the process from field to expensive bottle !

[snip]

And it grows wild as a "weed" (!) all over Nice. I love it!

Thanks Elena and everyone,

I am not confidant enough to travel by myself that is why I was asking for advice.

Longerdoc where is that?

I loved the comment about the bees. Also is late June a good time to see the
lavender?

I had a look at http://www.aroma-tours.com/tour-list.htm and the tours look nice.

Many thanks,

Paula

Search on Languedoc.

hi

Languedoc is the region adjoining Provence on the Mediterranean coast.

It includes Herault, Gard and Lozere.

Read about it on my homepage -

Follow seasonal advice and email anyone on any site you can find. I was there during
"the season" but it had been cooler beforehand and it wasn't in bloom.

Thank you so much for your advise but I think I will be joining the aroma tours
group. They sounded really nice and have a trip at around the end of June which is
just as you suggested.

As I will be traveling by myself I think I will enjoy being in a small group and
their tour sounds wonderful with lots of lavender which is my passion.

If anyone is interested their site is at http://www.aroma-tours.com Maybe I will see
one of you there :)

Many thanks to everyone,

Paula
