Default Italy or Spain in November?

i am planning to backpack/hostel around europe for a couple months
this fall. i think i'll start up north (england, ireland) around the
first of september (to avoid peak tourist time) and work my way south
as the weather gets colder. i was wondering if anyone had any
opinions on whether it would be better to end up in either italy or
spain at the end of my trip, spending the first couple weeks of
november in whichever country i end up in. i have read on this group
that it gets pretty rainy in italy in november, so i'm leaning toward
finishing up in spain. i'd appreciate any and all opinions...

thanks!

If weather is the main consideration, southern Spain (Andalucia) has a
better winter climate than Italy.

No one can predict the weather in Spain or anywhere else. One winter
(early December) I did a driving trip from Madrid to eastern Andalucía
(Cazorla) to Malaga then to Ronda and back north; it rained almost
every day. Several times I had to backtrack because major roads were
washed out, and there were many mountain villages I couldn't reach for
the same reason. So the next year (about the same time of year) I
decided to visit western Andalucía including the "wetlands" of Doñana.
That particular winter it didn't rain a drop, and the "wetlands" were
completely dry and birdless.
